SGBL finalizes the project of acquisition of certain assets and liabilities of the Lebanese Canadian Bank (LCB)
The Board of Directors of SGBL submitted, in March 2011, a buying offer – subject to the conditions hereunder - of certain assets and liabilities of the Lebanese Canadian Bank (LCB), which was approved on March 8, 2011 by the Central Bank of Lebanon.
SGBL was a sponsor of the « Basel III – Immunity requirements » conference which took place at the ESA on Tuesday May 3rd 2011. Centered on the Basel III recommendations, the conference was held in presence of numerous personalities of the banking sector among which the governor of the Central Bank, Mr Riad Salame and the President of the Banks’ Association, Mr Joseph Torbey.
Following the enormous success of the Facebook competition launched by SGBL among USJ students, it was the AUB & LAU student’s turn to enjoy the game!
On the occasion of LAU’s career fair on May 12th and the AUB’s one on May 13th, a crowd of students gathered around the SGBL stand, where a funny game was hosted, allowing them to engage in a photo booth competition, in which 4 students, were announced as the lucky winners of a 500 USD check.
April 18, 2011- Beirut Lebanon: Société Générale de Banque au Liban (SGBL) was a prominent participant at this year’s Université Saint Joseph (USJ) career fair which was held at the Social Sciences campus on April 6 and 7, 2011. Students gathered eagerly around the SGBL stand, where a funny game was hosted, allowing them to engage in a photo booth competition, in which one student, was announced as the lucky winner of a 500 USD check.
SGBL was the partner of the second edition of the “Grand Competition for Language and French Culture” organized by the French Embassy in Lebanon, during the “Francophonie” month. The primary aim of the competition was to teach the Lebanese army the French language. Like in previous years, the competition was of huge success, with over 10,000 participants.
As part of its annual banking forum, Notre Dame University (NDU) has launched the competition "First on-campus innovation competition" aimed at students with the main theme: innovation.
General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) represented by its Chief General Ashraf Rifi and SGBL, represented by Deputy General Manager, Mr Tarek Chehab, jointly signed the protocol agreement, on Friday April 8, 2011, to launch the new Housing Loan Program for members of the ISF.
